How to Start your New Job Successfully

There were lots of Southport and  Merseyside jobs to choose form at the start. There was one Merseyside job that appealed, you sent in your CV attended interview waited nervously and were selected by your new Merseyside employer. Make the most of your new opportunity and start your new Merseyside job in the right way.

Remember you interview, smile, be polite, be positive make sure your new colleagues get the firm handshake you’re so proud of. The best bit about it is that you’re a blank canvass, no one know what you’re about. If you serious about your career in Merseyside then this is a bonus. Your new colleagues don’t know how you drank slightly too much at the office bash last year, or reversed into the MD’s car earning you the nickname of “The Stig”.

On you first day at your new job in Merseyside its unlikely you’ll be asked to do anything that resembles work. But whatever you are asked to do, make sure you give it 100% effort.

Be nice to everyone

You don’t know who’s who yet in the office pecking order. If you upset the wrong person you could end up with no car parking pass for 12 months or worse still end your Merseyside career prospects on day one.

Make a effort to introduce yourself to new work colleagues at your new Merseyside job. Ask advice from other colleagues at your new job in Merseyside, but stand about uncomfortably waiting for something to happen

Assess the company culture

Don’t assume you can carry on as you did at your last job in Merseyside. The culture at your new Merseyside job could be totally different. Keep an eye out for who’s who and how things are done, don’t make alliances with people who are going nowhere in their Merseyside careers. The boss will want to assess where you fit for when then next round of promotions come up.
